The loss of belief is a three-layered grief. The first layer, loss of content: God is gone, heaven is gone, prayer is gone. The second layer, loss of framework: the system that interpreted the world is gone. The third layer, loss of identity: "Who am I, without that belief?" This is the quietest and longest layer.
Protodik grief and liberation most often arrive at the same time; this is not a contradiction, but a structural feature of this transition.
